LAMUN Secretariat

  • Raghu Kommalapaty

    LAMUN Secretary-General

Raghu Kommalapaty is a 3rd year Global Studies and Economics double major and his pride for his hometown of Boston is obvious with his palpable love for all things New England. He has been involved in MUN since 7th grade, and has never looked back. In high school, Raghu traveled all throughout the New England circuit and was both the secretary and president of his MUN club. He has continued this trend at UCLA where he has traveled extensively, chaired for both our high school and college conferences, served as the USG of GA at the previous iteration of BruinMUN, and is currently the SG for LAMUN, our premier collegiate conference.

Outside of MUN, Raghu enjoys playing pick-up basketball, intramural sports, and skiing. He is obsessed with anything Boston sports related and is a die hard fan for both the Celtics and Patriots. He also enjoys watching anime and gaming, mostly 4x-strategy games and FPS’. After college Raghu wants to pursue a career in international business, whether that be through consulting, market expansion & strategy, or supply chain logistics. After everything is said and done he wants to return to the homeland of Massachusetts and live in his mancave.

  • Cali Sheldon

    USG - GA/Spec

Cali is this year’s LAMUN USG of GA and specialized committees. She is a fourth year majoring in Psychology and Communications with a minor in film. This is her fourth year in Model UN at UCLA, and she has been the CD for specialized committees at LAMUN for the last two years (slay MLM and Crazy Rich Asians!) and is very excited to be this year’s USG. She also has competed on UCLA’s travel team and loves getting to meet people on the circuit!

Cali was born and raised in Hermosa Beach, California, and despite multiple attempts at rebranding as a slay surfer beach girl, she still can barely stand up on a surfboard. Still, she loves the beach and is happy to be a resident LA tour guide for her friends (even though she is remarkably bad with directions). In her free time, Cali likes laying in grass, reading, sitting with the turtles at UCLA’s botanical gardens, and drawing Sonic on every available surface. After graduating, she has no idea what she wants to do with her life but hopes it will all work out. She’s excited to see you all at LAMUN this year!

  • Grant Huebner

    USG - Crisis

Grant Huebner is a third-year at UCLA majoring in Political Science and minoring in Public Policy. Hailing from Chicago (smaller than New York, bigger than Boston, cleaner than both), he first became involved in Model UN during his freshman year in high school and has loved it ever since. In high school, Grant traveled across the Midwest circuit and was the Secretary General of his Model UN team. This year, Grant is elated to serve as an Under Secretary General of LAMUN; he looks forward to seeing everyone this spring!

Outside of Model UN, Grant is a Fellow at the Y&S Nazarian Center and is active in the environmental movement, attending climate marches and building houses with Habitat for Humanity. He also enjoys working out, skiing, and backpacking in the mountains. After college, Grant has a mission to visit every national park, every state, and every country by the time he turns thirty. He hopes to pursue a career in domestic or international politics, working abroad to help make the world a more peaceful and prosperous place (and conveniently allowing him to travel the world).

  • Shrinidhy Srinivas

    President

Shrinidhy is a fourth-year at UCLA majoring in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics and minoring in Global Health. Hailing from the Bay Area (a fact she will never let you forget), she first became involved with Model UN in seventh grade and has loved it ever since. Throughout the past nine years in Model UN, Shrinidhy has been a delegate across the high school and collegiate circuits, a staffer, a Crisis Director, a Chair, and (previously) the Chief of Staff as well as the Director of External Relations for MUN at UCLA. In her tenth and final year of MUN, Shrinidhy is thrilled to be serving as President.

Outside of Model UN, Shrinidhy is involved with multiple research labs as a Research Assistant, volunteers at Ronald Reagan Medical Center, and coordinates health policy efforts with the Los Angeles Human Rights Initiative. She loves to swim, hike, travel, watch anything and everything Disney related, and do any activity that will give her an adrenaline rush (from paragliding to white water rafting). In the future, Shrinidhy hopes to work in pediatric surgery, healthcare policy, and international volunteer work, eventually retiring to a cabin in the mountains.

  • Jonah Paten

    Director of Finance

Jonah is a fourth year computer science major from Santa Cruz, CA. He joined MUN in sophomore year of high school, and fell in love with it ever since, loving the intense debate and discussion of ideas. Attending conferences in high school, including BruinMUN, built his interest in global issues and the politics involved in solving them.

At UCLA, Jonah has staffed conferences, competed on the travel team to numerous conferences, and served on the executive board. He loves being able to travel the continent with the competitive team and to be a small part of the big things that MUN at UCLA does. Jonah’s excited to serve as Director of Finance this year to help create a more inclusive club for new members while still running top ranked conferences and travel teams. Outside of MUN, he is a project manager for ACM TeachLA, a student researcher studying transportation equity, and loves to explore UCLA’s beautiful campus and libraries.
